Shower valve work is priced mostly by access: whether a panel exists behind the shower, whether tile has to come out, and whether it can be matched afterwards. Then whether the fault is the cartridge or the body, and whether the part is still made for that maker.

Then whether the fault is the cartridge or the body, whether the cartridge is available for that manufacturer, and whether it is seized by scale.
